If you use WordPress you must read this

This weekend I had a new client contact me in a total panic.
Her WordPress website and blog was hacked and when she was able to log back in the database was ruined and she lost all of her content!
If you use WordPress you must be backing up your blog or website on a regular basis. Especially before you add a new theme and upgrade to the latest version of WordPress.

Also make sure you change the default Admin username and password. And it doesn’t hurt to change your Admin password on a monthly basis.

Luckily I use a custom plugin that runs complete backups automatically on a regular basis and emails me the backups. If my client sites or my business WordPress sites are ever compromised I can very quickly restore them. The WordPress back up plugin I use is Backup Buddy I have the Developer Suite which allows you to use the plugin on unlimited websites and blogs.

You should also check out WP Twin it’s a little easier and faster but it doesn’t have backup scheduling.
Both clone your ENTIRE blog in seconds, so you can back up everything and also move the blog or website to another hosting account.

Or if you do a lot of WordPress set ups, you can automate the cloning and save a ton of time.

These are the ultimate backup tools for WordPress.

Check out the features and videos on both websites to see which one is best for you.

You can use one of the free WordPress back up plugins but they have no support and only backup the database and not the entire theme, plugins, and CSS files.

And they don’t have the support and features that the premium backup plugins have like the one-click restore and the ability to move WordPress blogs and sites to other hosting providers.
Please back up your WordPress blogs and websites before it’s too late.

Hey Martin – Wp-Twin now has a reasonably priced upgrade that does automatic (scheduled) backups. You do have to set up a cron job so it is not as simple as BackupBuddy, but I thought I’d pass that on.
