Has your site taken a tumble in Google’s index and are you trying to recover?

On April 24, 2012, Google launched an update to its algorithm. It is called Penguin that targets sites that Google feels violate the Webmaster Quality Guidelines.

Therefore, the only way to recover from this penalty is to remove the concerns Google feels are spammy from your site or to start all over with a new site. Neither option is easy.

So… how can you tell if your site was targeted and if it was, what you need to do to fix the problems?

Simple, just watch for the download link at the end of the video above.

This free eBook discusses how you can identify if your site was targeted by the Google Penguin and provides a comprehensive checklist on how you can recover.

Google’s new gBlimp Ads – The next great advertising format arrives this May

Posted by Martin Maybruck on Friday, April 1st, 2011 | Comments (2)
Google Blimp Ads

The next great advertising format arrives this May

Introducing gBlimps

After years of meticulous design, our brand new fleet of blimps is finally ready to take to the skies. Soon you’ll be seeing Google blimps (a.k.a. gBlimps) flying over major cities, displaying AdWords ads to a larger audience than ever before.

Take your ads to new heights

If you already have an AdWords account, using Blimp Ads is easy. Our gBlimps are designed specifically to display your existing text ads in their original format.

Rethink the way you target

With Blimp Ads, you can target your audience in exciting new ways. Specify the height and location of the blimp, as well as the time you want the ad to run. You can even target special events like football games, outdoor concerts, meteor showers, and more!

Success stories

Once we started using blimps to advertise our blimps, our sales went through the roof!

Rajeev N. — Blimp dealer

I was trying to watch a solar eclipse when a blimp ad blocked my view…and that’s how I signed up for my first yodeling lesson.

Han X. — Aspiring yodeler

It was so hard to see the small ads on a computer screen, but now they’re so clear on a big blimp.

Dounan S. — Grandmother of seven

My blimp ads consistently outperform my text ads in clicks, impressions, ROI, CTR, CPA, CPM, CPC, and even CPZ!

Alex W. — AdWords expert

Google +1 button

Posted by Martin Maybruck on Wednesday, March 30th, 2011 | Comments (11)

Google just announced their new personal recommendation button the Google +1.

This is Google’s direct competitor to Facebook’s ‘Like’ button.

The NEW SEO is the social vote so this is VERY IMPORTANT!

If you have a Google account and you are logged in while you are searching on Google you may see search results with recommendations from people you know. Things they shared on Twitter, Flickr and other sites.

“Today we’re…enabling you to share recommendations with the world right in Google’s search results. It’s called +1—the digital shorthand for “this is pretty cool.” To recommend something, all you have to do is click +1 on a webpage or ad you find useful. These +1’s will then start appearing in Google’s search results.
The +1 button will appear next to each search result
After pressing the +1 button, you have the option to undo the action immediately

Say, for example, you’re planning a winter trip to Tahoe, Calif. When you do a search, you may now see a +1 from your slalom-skiing aunt next to the result for a lodge in the area. Or if you’re looking for a new pasta recipe, we’ll show you +1’s from your culinary genius college roommate. And even if none of your friends are baristas or caffeine addicts, we may still show you how many people across the web have +1’d your local coffee shop.

The beauty of +1’s is their relevance—you get the right recommendations (because they come from people who matter to you), at the right time (when you are actually looking for information about that topic) and in the right format (your search results). For more information about +1, watch this video:

HOW TO USE GOOGLE +1 BUTTON

To get started +1’ing the stuff you like, you’ll need to create a Google profile—or if you already have one, upgrade it. You can use your profile to see all of your +1’s in one place, and delete those you no longer want to recommend. To see +1’s in your Google search results you’ll need to be logged into your Google Account.

If you can’t wait to start seeing +1’s, Google will soon let you opt-in to the launch by visiting Google’s experimental search site.
